CILICIA, Aigeai, (c.47-29 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (14.16 g), dated year 16 = 31-30 B.C.), obv. turreted and veiled bust of Tyche to right, reel and ball border, rev. Athena standing to left, holding Nike and resting left hand on shield, spear to right, on left **DI* and club, in exergue IC (= year 16) on right downwards **AIGEAIWN*, and **D* to lower right, (S.-, Houghton & Bendall {p.73 dies A3/P5, MN 33 [1988]} = SNG Levante 1655 [Pl.112, This Coin] = Bloesch 111 [This Coin, MN 27 {1982}], cf.SNG France 2280, SNG von Aulock -). Toned, good very fine, minor encrustation on reverse, very rare.

Ex Edoardo Levante Collection, sold in CNG Mail Bid Sale 66, 19 May 2004 (lot 525) with CNG ticket. The only known example and was published by several numismatic writers as above.
